Chris Silverwood is back in Essex after eight years and believes that he is a better coach for his experiences in charge of England and Sri Lanka.
The Chelmsford county turned to the old Silverwood boss after the departure of Anthony McGrath in October to take over in the Yorkshire.
Silverwood is “at home” and eager to rely on an exceptional previous passage where he guided Essex towards the promotion in 2016 before a year later, he obtained the title of county champion.
The 49-year-old man has been traveling from a difficult spell as a two-year-old English headkeeper at the head of Sri Lanka before being tempted to return to the domestic scene when he received a call from ‘Essex this winter.

Even if Silverwood made the headlines of major newspapers for having been dismissed by England following a defeat of the 4-0 Ashes of Covid-19 series three years ago, he has no grudge and is Without a doubt a better person for that.
“There are always things you are going to look back and say that we could have done it differently. Would I have taken so many things? Probably not, ”said Silverwood.
“At the time, you do things for what you think is the right reasons and you learn, so I don’t have any animosity or a grip, or something like that.
“You put it in experience. Did it help me grow as a person? Yes. Did it help me grow as a coach? Certainly. And the lessons I learned, when I went to Sri Lanka, once again, I was able to set them up too.
“As I said when I got out of England, I’m still a fan of England. I always want them to succeed.
The aggressive style of England stormed the nation since Silverwood was replaced by Brendon McCullum in the summer of 2022.
Silverwood appreciated the daring philosophy from a distance and was also proud of the fact that the players he made the beginnings of the test – Ollie Pope and Zak Crawley – prospered under the direction of Ben Stokes and McCullum.
He added: “Obviously, the two guys who entered, well as captain and baz, they put their character there and that worked so well on them.
“Did we like to look at him? Absolutely. We liked to look, I think everyone has done it, but also, we must understand that you are going to Australia, you go to India as they have done now, they are difficult places to chat. “”
The launcher in England Silverwood has long passed to linger on what if and while he was inflicted a bad hand with his mandate affected by the coronavirus pandemic after a great victory in the 3-1 test series in Africa From the south, the immediate task of the new Essex of Essex The Director of Cricket must improve his first spell.
It will not be easy since Silverwood guided Essex on consecutive red ball titles, which was followed by additional silverware under its former number two MCGRATH, but the Yorkshireman has again a sparkle in his eyes.
“From a personal development point of view, Sri Lanka was superb and it came at a good time to the back of England and everything,” said Silverwood.
“You say that I am a proud of Yorkshireman, but Essex has been at home and that has long been. My children were all born here.
“For me, it comes home. It’s my house, so I’m very proud to be back. I am obviously proud to have the involvement that I made the last time, but to come back and start to help, I am very proud. And we have to beat him.
“I am proud of the system that we left that works, but I am proud of the fact that the magazines have picked it up and I ran with it. He continued to drive what we have implemented and we struck well above our weight.
“What we have to do now is to make sure to continue doing so for many years to come.”
