“This is what is happening in Lievin. I am a very happy man. You have to be focused for the whole race. It’s difficult, but it’s worth it.”

He also crossed the bar of 1,500 m indoors which he fixed on the same track three years ago, obtaining an obstacle at 3: 29.63, then holding the last half-butt to add the record of mile.

Meanwhile, Grant Holloway, the 110m hedge Olympic champion, softened to victory in the hedges of 60m.

The American, who is also a double world champion, beat Wilhem Belocien de France, with 7.36 seconds, the best time this season.

Victory was a perfect preparation for the 27-year-old player before the European championships (March 6-9 in Apedoorn, Netherlands) and the world inside (March 21-23 in Nanjing, China).

“I feel at home on this track,” said Holloway after his fourth consecutive victory in the French room.

The Ethiopian had her in sight halfway, but the pace dropped and she finished second to the champion of World in the 1500m room, Freweyni Hailu, who ran 8: 19.98 to improve her peak time Ontrava last week.

Ethiopia also dominated the 1,500 women while the champion of the Mile World Road, Direbe Welteji, won in 3: 58.89, ahead of the compatriots Habitam Alemu and Worknesh Mesele.

American Grace Stark (7.82) and France Laeticcia Bapte (7.85) finished the first three.

The Silver Leonardo Fabbri medalist won the male weight throwing with a better effort of 21.95 m.
