The former race pilot Billy Monger plans to participate in the 2028 paralympic games in Los Angeles after receiving royal recognition for his Ironman Record exploits.
The 25 -year -old broke the Ironman World Record with a double amputated on Saturday by finishing the 140.6 mile world championship course in Kona, Hawaii in 14 hours, 23 minutes and 56 seconds.
His remarkable effort, which followed an exhausting year of training alongside his work as a television presenter, overshadowed the best previous brand – established by American Roderick Sewell – of more than two hours.

Monger, who was congratulated by the Prince of Wales for his success, who collects funds for comic relief, feels a shot to the glory of para triathlon in Los Angeles is a possibility.
“Curiously, after spending a year of my life training for Triathlon and the Kona Ironman, my coaches Mark and Will, they slowly flowed nourishing me a little here and there about Los Angeles in 2028”, he told the AP news agency.
“This is definitely something that they simply relaxed me in the reflection process, that the Paralympic Games are at four years, but it could be a possibility.
“I loved the training process for Kona and I learned a lot through all this experience, so I would certainly never say.”
Monger, whose legs were amputated after being involved in an almost fatal accident while racing in Donington Park in 2017, defeated jellyfish bites to finish the “most difficult challenge” of his life.
He finished swimming of 2.4 miles in 1:07:29, the cycle of 112 miles in 7:26:50 and the marathon takes place in 5:26:26.
Prince William responded to the feat by publishing: “Bravo Billy, an inspiring effort. On social networks, while Tottenham’s supporter, Monger also received praise from his favorite football club.
“It’s really breathtaking to have Prince William knowing the challenge and what we have accomplished and responding to it,” said Monger.

“It’s a bit surreal to obtain a royal opinion and support for the challenge. But it really means a lot of knowing that I had the whole nation behind me and I really felt this support throughout the process.
“I am absolutely frightened and full of pride. It was a long journey and there have been many hours, many sacrifices that devote a challenge of this scale.
“At the beginning, it was a bit of a pipe dream and to go out and beat the world record of more than two hours, it was beyond my wildest expectations.”
Monger, who covered Formula 1 and the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024 during his career as a broadcasting, in addition to being a candidate on the celebrity race around the world, collected 3.2 million pounds sterling for The comic relief in 2021 walking, kayaking and traveling 140 miles across England.
He hopes to go beyond this figure after the success of his last challenge, which was undertaken in Hawaii in part because of Sewell which established the previous world record in 2019.
“There were a lot of mental and physical points where it seemed that the body was close to Breaking Point,” said Monger, who always dreams of running in Formula 1.
“Who knows what’s going on for me?” What challenges are going beyond this? I don’t know.
“Motor sport has been my passion from a young age, that’s what I know, so I would certainly not reign from the point of view of motorsport.
One day, I will never forget to feel the roller coaster of emotions at the moment, but mainly so proud to have made this incredible journey with so many incredible people in my corner! 🙌🏼 Feel full of pride to never give up myself and my dream ❤️💪🏼 pic.twitter.com/wxjq0vfyu8

“But, too, I liked to be my own engine, that’s what Ironman and Triathlon were all.
“The effort I put in training results in performance on the day of the race, so it was nice to get out what I put.
“I always get on the crest of a wave.”
