The wing in England Cadan Murley will miss the conflict of the Six Nations with France with Steve Barthwick, considering the changes of the defeated team in Dublin.

Murley made his debut against Ireland, but suffered an injury to the foot which will exclude him from the second match on Saturday. It is understood that he could come back for the end of the tournament with other analyzes on the planned issue.

The Saracens center Alex Lozowski, which was part of the Barthwick team in the fall without making its appearance, was called to the team before a Crunch clash at the Allianz stadium, Twickenham.

England has lost seven of its last nine games, only beating Japan at that time, and were beaten 53-10 by France the last time they welcomed their rivals of prohibited channel.

The head coach Barthwick will envisage the balance of his rear row, his background line and his bench while he seeks to approach the familiar faults which again surfaced in Ireland.

Jamie George, replaced as captain of Maro Itoje, returned before the scheduled date and could strengthen the team on Saturday afternoon, the whore at 97 CAP adding an essential experience.

Having aligned a short rear recovery row at the Aviva stadium with the curry twins joined by Ben Earl, Barthwick may well add an additional size to the unit against a large and physical French pack.

Ollie Chessum appeared outside the bench and will be taken into account at Blindside Flanker.

“I think the rear row has worked very hard and had a big impact on the match,” said Barthwick after the defeat against Ireland. “Defensively, they were all excellent. This Irish team is so well drilled in their attack, so you often have very few opportunities to return the ball to the break, but I thought they had put Ireland in this regard and did a great job. Their domination of collision was really good and if you looked outside the ball, they covered a lot of ground.

“I will look at what we need next week against France. This group of players is built and will be a very, very good team. I trust this group of players. You can see how hard they work for each other and I thought it was a step forward today. Look how hard they have run and the effort – I can see a team starting to develop among this group. »»

With Murley Out, Ollie Sleightholme, Tom Roebuck and perhaps Elliot Daly will be considered options on the wing.

There can also be a thought for a more radical reshaping against a French side which tends to start long, offering fewer questionable situations and some chances of counterattack. This could see Barthwick consider the selection of Marcus Smith behind, a strategy used successfully during the 2023 World Cup.

“I think Marcus is a 10 that can play 15,” said the head coach when he was unveiled last month. “I think he sees it in the same way. I know that its favorite position is 10.

“I also see an incredibly dangerous player in space. And I started it at 15 in England, but more recently, I started it at 10 years old, then I moved 15 later in the games. Having this versatility is really important. »»

France, on the other hand, should select Matthieu Jalibert in half if Romain Ntamack is, as planned, suspended after sending the country of Wales.

Ntamack faces a disciplinary audience on Wednesday morning after receiving a red card for his high tackle on Ben Thomas, with Jalibert his probable replacement despite a relationship with coach Fabien Galkie in the Autumn Nations series.

The Damian Penaud wing did not participate in training on Monday, but should be able to return to Théo Attissogbe’s costs.
