The presenter of the BBC, Gabby Logan, suggested that neutral fans could avoid TNT sports if the six nations move behind a payment wall and that rugby union “is getting in the foot again”.
The right -wing rights between the BBC and the ITV for the Six Nations expires after the championship this year, with TNT Sports linked to the acquisition of rights of next year. The diffuser also shows the Autumn and Gallagher Premièship internationals.
Speaking on Sports agents Podcast (listen to below) alongside the co-host Mark Chapman and the guest David Flatman, who works as an expert for ITV and TNT, Logan noted that millions of people come to watch the six nations on the BBC and ITV Compared to the “hundreds of thousands” by looking at the Prime Minister every week on TNT.

“We are talking about people who do not look at rugby all the time, enjoying these massive occasions, learn more about sport, enjoy the fight, enjoy the rivalry. This, if the six nations are potentially a payment wall, will be completely lost, “said Logan. “This neutral fan, this person who does not really know rugby, coming and enjoying the ride, she will not necessarily take the trouble to buy TNT or wherever sport takes the six nations.”
