Liv golf players received a direct path to the US Open on Wednesday while the US Golf Association announced new categories of exemption for the event from June 12 to 15 of this year.

The United States Open becomes the first major to provide a direct path for Talents VIV on the field, with an exempt point reserved for Oakmont for the best player either exempt from the first three of VIV in the individual ranking on May 19 , the day after this PGA championship of the year.

There will be seven events before the threshold this year in the series supported by Saoudie, starting with this week’s event in Saudi Arabia, followed by those of Adélaïde, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Mexico and Mexico and Mexico from South Korea.

“The USGA continues to assess the paths that exist to ensure that those who play their best have the opportunity to participate in our national championship,” said USGA competition director John Bodenhamer.

“In accordance with our historical approach, we continuously assess talent levels on professional visits and in amateur events, which led us to add a new category of exemption.”

In addition to this complete exemption from this year, a local exemption will be awarded to the 10 best VIV players on April 7, Monday of the Master’s week. This places them in the final qualifications of 36 holes for us.

From 2026 for the US Open in Shinnecock Hills, the first three which are not already exempt from the final ranking of LIV in 2025 will win an open place in the United States, as is the best non-exempt player from Liv Top three May 2026.

“We are delighted that the USGA has officially created a new exemption so that golf golf players compete in the US Open,” said Golf Director of Liv, Scott O’Neil.

“Each golf fan in the world aspires to see the biggest players in the world in competition on the biggest golf scenes in the ups. in all corners of the world. “

The PGA of America and the R&A have not created specific qualification categories for the players of the Liv while The Masters offers special invitations, this year, including Joaquin Niemann of Liv, Chile.

LIV players who are already qualified for the US Open of this year include title champion Bryson Dechambeau and former major winners Jon Rahm, Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka.

Since the beginnings of LIV in 2022, the American PGA Tour has prohibited LIV players from participating in PGA events. This left major tournaments such as the stars of LIV and PGA can compete in each other.

The PGA Tour and the donors of Liv, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) have been in talks on the gathering of both parties for almost two years without concluding.
