Middlesex signed the great Zélandais Great Kane Williamson during a major coup before the new county season.
Williamson, widely considered one of the best strikers of his generation, will be available for at least five games in the second half of the county championship season, as well as the majority of the vitality explosion.
The 34 -year -old will also be a captain of London in the hundred, which means that Lord – where he skipped New Zealand in the 2019 epic world cup final – will become his house for a large part of the ‘been English.
“To be able to play for Middlesex – a beautiful club with a rich heritage – is really exciting and something I am really looking forward to,” said Williamson. “To play Lord’s, the Maison du Cricket – which is one of my favorite terrains in the world for so many different reasons – is something that I am particularly impatient.
“There is a good balance between young people and experience in the Middlesex team, which is great, and I am really excited to join the team, meet the team players and help everywhere where I can. “
Williamson is the first scorer of all time in New Zealand in formats, after having carried out more than 18,000 international races.
He last played in the county cricket in 2018 for the last time, during the last of several spells in Yorkshire, and first did it with the Gloucestershire in 2011.
“We are extremely enthusiastic about the fact that Kane joins Middlesex this summer and we look forward to having a positive impact in our Blast and Championship campaigns,” said Middlesex cricket director Alan Coleman.
“Having obtained one of the most talented players in the world game is a real coup d’etat, and we can’t wait to welcome him to Lord and see him go with the three Seax on his chest.
“Having a player like Kane in the Middlesex locker room will be a huge advantage for the whole team, and in particular our young players, who will benefit a lot from playing alongside one of the best in the world.”
