Keely Hodgkinson fears that she will be sidelined for about six weeks and is missing the rest of the indoor season after suffering a tear.
Hodgkinson, who won the Olympic 800 meters of gold in Paris last summer, had already been forced to withdraw from its own event, Keely Klassic, in Birmingham this weekend due to the injury, but has Scanné has now revealed a tear, which means a longer spell outside.
“I had my last training session, it went very well, and I made some progress after training,” said the 22 -year -old Briton at Sky Sports News.
“The last one, I just felt this training in my hamstrings. Then I had a scan and he revealed a little tear.
“It will be the outdoor season now, probably, until I run again, which is a bit of a shame.
“The hamstrings are quite capricious and they are not messy. I will not be ready for a little while, unfortunately. Up to six weeks, it could be faster, it could be longer, but it should not affect my outdoor season. »»
Hodgkinson hoped to establish a new world record of 800m in his own race, which has been located for almost 23 years.
“I thought it could certainly have been done,” she said.
“Obviously, everything must go well, is more than what I know I am capable of.
“The race must be well punctuated, you have to understand and have a smooth race.
“This race was configured perfectly perfectly to do it. I just had this image in my head in the way she could have been, which is really sad and it really made me upset not to be able to put this together. »»
The injury puts Hodgkinson in doubt for the indoor world championships, which take place in Nanjing, China, next month.
