Tiger Woods withdrew from the Genesis Invitational Tournament this week in Torrey Pines, saying that he is still treating the recent death of his mother, Kultida.
Woods had targeted the event, which he also had to host, to return after having undergone surgery last year.
But the 49 -year -old wrote in a declaration on X on Monday: “I planned to set it up this week, but I’m just not ready. I did my best to prepare myself, knowing that this is what my mother wanted, but I always deal with her loss.

Woods announced the death of his mother on February 4, displaying on X: “It is with sincere sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, died early this morning.

Woods did not reveal the cause of the death of his mother, who the previous week had attended the TGL match of his son in Florida. The former father of the world number one, Earl, died in 2006.
The 49 -year -old man underwent surgery in September to approach back spasms, which seriously limited his tournament game last year.
He and his 15 -year -old Charlie son finished second in the PNC championship in December, and the 15 times major winner has since played twice to Jupiter Links in the TGL.
Woods won 82 PGA Tour victories in his name, including eight in Torrey Pines, where he claimed seven securities from seven farmers and the US Open 2008.
The Genesis Invitational is staged during San Diego between February 13 and 16 after being far from the Riviera Country Club due to the impact of forest fires in Los Angeles.
